Turn Your Dedicated Mobile Proxy into a VPN on Your Phone or Laptop

Published · Updated

Most people picture a proxy as something you type into a browser's settings box. That works, but it leaves out every app that has no settings box: the banking app, the marketplace app, the game, the phone's own browser. A VLESS line fixes that. Your dedicated ProxyMobile line is served by Xray as an encrypted tunnel, and a VPN-style client on the device pushes all traffic through it with a single tap. The carrier IP is the same one your dedicated line has always had; only the way you reach it changes. This guide sets that up on a phone first, because that is where it makes the biggest difference, and then on a laptop.

Copy the line from your dashboard

Open the ProxyMobile dashboard, go to My proxies and find your line. Under the login details there is a row named VLESS / Xray. Tap the copy icon next to it. What you copied is a single long line starting with vless:// and it is everything a client needs: address, port, your id, and the REALITY parameters that make the tunnel look like ordinary web traffic.

Keep that line private. Whoever holds it can use your dedicated modem. If it leaks, press Revoke access on the card and a fresh id replaces the old one immediately.

If there is no VLESS row on your card, the line is on a carrier or a device that does not run Xray. Handset-based lines never do. Use Move location with the VLESS / Xray box ticked and the dashboard will only show you locations where it is available.

On an Android phone

Install v2rayNG from Google Play. If the phone has no Play services, the same app is published as an APK on its project page.

  1. Open v2rayNG, tap the plus button and choose Import config from clipboard. Your line appears with the name from the dashboard.
  2. Tap the line once so it is selected.
  3. Tap the V button at the bottom. Android asks whether the app may set up a VPN connection. Tap OK.
  4. A small key appears in the status bar. Open any app and it is now using the carrier IP of your line.
  5. To leave some apps on your normal connection, open Settings inside v2rayNG, find Per-app proxy, switch it on and tick the apps that should use the line.

On an iPhone or iPad

Two free App Store clients work well: V2Box and Streisand. The steps below use V2Box.

  1. Install V2Box and open it. Go to the Configs tab, tap the plus button, then Import from clipboard.
  2. Tap the imported line so it is selected.
  3. Tap the connect button on the home tab. iOS asks to add a VPN configuration; tap Allow and confirm with Face ID or your passcode.
  4. The VPN badge in the status bar means every app on the phone is now going through your line.
  5. To disconnect, tap the same button again, or switch the VPN off in the iPhone Settings app.

On a Windows or Mac laptop

On Windows use v2rayN, which is a portable program with the Xray core included. On a Mac, V2Box from the App Store is the same app as on iPhone and imports the line the same way, so the iPhone steps above apply. The Windows steps are:

  1. Download the With-Core zip from the v2rayN releases page and extract it. Run v2rayN.exe.
  2. Copy the vless:// line from the dashboard and press Ctrl and V in v2rayN.
  3. Right-click the line and choose Set as active server.
  4. At the bottom, change System proxy to Set system proxy. Browsers and most desktop apps now use the line.
  5. For apps that ignore the Windows proxy setting, turn on TUN mode from the same bar. It asks to run as administrator once and then routes the whole machine like a VPN.

Rotation and sticky sessions still work

Nothing about your dedicated line changes behind the tunnel. Press the rotation link from the dashboard, or set an automatic interval, and the modem takes a new carrier IP while the tunnel stays connected. If you rely on a sticky session for a long login, leave rotation off as you always have.

One small difference: while the tunnel is on, requests to the rotation link also travel through the line. That is fine; the link is designed to be reachable from anywhere.

When it does not connect

The two causes we see most are a device clock that has drifted and a link that has gone stale. The clock matters because REALITY checks certificates with real dates; set the phone to automatic time. A link goes stale when a line is moved or its modem is switched, because the server issues a new id. Copy the current line from the dashboard and import it again.

If the client connects but your real IP still shows on a check site, the VPN or system-proxy switch is off. On Android, look for the key icon; on iPhone, the VPN badge; on Windows, the System proxy status in the bottom bar.

Frequently asked

Does the tunnel change which IP websites see?

No. They see the same dedicated carrier IP your line has through HTTP or SOCKS5. The tunnel only changes how traffic gets from your device to the modem.

Can I use the VLESS line and the SOCKS5 login at the same time?

Yes. Both reach the same modem. A laptop can use SOCKS5 in a browser profile while a phone uses the tunnel, as long as you stay within the line's connection limit.

Will this work on the phone's mobile data as well as Wi-Fi?

Yes. The tunnel runs over whatever connection the phone has. Some carriers block unusual ports; if it connects on Wi-Fi but not on data, ask support for a line on port 443.
